Operation Legacy Spring 2019
Portland, OR – April 27th 2019. The spring Operation Legacy event was a number of seconds for me. My second event leading an operation and my second event with the Travis Manion Foundation. Keeping with my tradition of honoring and remembering a Navy service member, I chose to honor Petty Officer Second Class Malik Christopher, United States Navy.
Malik was born in Hammond Indiana and was survived by his mother, father, little sister, little brother, daughter, and wife as well as a host of family and friends. Malik was deeply spiritual and hilarious at the same time. He had a good heart and fatherly type spirit. He definitely loved to make everyone around him laugh and always wanted to make sure his people were taken care of. He had dreams of becoming a Navy Chaplin and mentor. He loved music and recorded a few tracks back in his prime.
TMF Fallen Heroes
I have a goal to make each place I better that I found it, so a beautification project is always a nice way to achieve that goal. The volunteers (some members of Beasts OCR and GORUCK participants) and I walked up and down the Springwater Corridor picking up trash.
Between the five of us, we filled 2 30 gallon trash bags full of trash. It always amazes me when random people thank you for picking up trash. I lost count how many times were were thanked.
